Over the past couple of years, Elegant Angel (a company which was once best known as being a mere knock-off of Evil Angel) has produced adult videos which rank among the finest gonzo I've ever seen. Titles like SPORTY GIRLS, ALEXIS TEXAS IS BUTTWOMAN and especially PERFORMERS OF THE YEAR have been given repeated spins long after previously overhyped DVDs (and Blu-rays) have been forgotten. The clean videography, excellent direction, and especially the female talent make every knew Elegant Angel release a true visual event for all fans of erotica.
In this case, CURVY GIRLS #4 (directed and photographed by Sam No) isn't quite as wonderful as I expected it to be when compared to, say, BIG WET ASSES #12 and GLAMOUR GIRLS, but it does meet the studio's high standards and is entertaining from beginning to end. As the title suggest, busty and/or zaftig women are the focus. If you've ever complained about porno girls looking way too underfed, then you'll be relieved to see the variety shown here. Bodies seem to be on the verge of bursting out of bikinis and lingerie, and a longtime hottie like Julia Ann would feel right at home in this series (hint, hint as to future editions of CURVY GIRLS). Obviously, you won't see any stunning spinners like Jenna Haze, but the cast does feature the likes of Carmella Bing and Jenna Presley (two new favorites of mine) who certainly give it their all when it comes to entertaining their men (and us). Carmella gets devoured by Mark Ashley who manhandles her breasts like some teenager getting to his first feel, and Jenna is both passionate and filthy when paired with Mick Blue, who also gets to tag busty blonde Kagney Linn Karter.
However, for me the most pleasing surprise is Gracie Glam, a true newbie in adult (as of late 2009). She looks sinfully barely legal in a blue plaid skirt and tank top, and her ass is as grope-worthy as it gets. Lucky James Deen get to have his way with her, and she is stripped of her outfit as their scene progresses from blowjob to multi-positioned fucking. I especially appreciate that her body is free from tattoos and unusual piercings, which makes her look even more innocent and infinitely sexier.
Because of the subject matter, oral cumshots are less in abundance than what's found in most gonzo. Hence, you'll see Jayden James (appearing with Anthony Rosano in the opening scene) and Miss Karter getting spunked in the mouth, but Carmella and Jenna get sprayed on their chest, while Gracie gets slimed on her butt. Naturally, a threesome or lesbian scene would have added value to this title, but what you get here is good enough for any guy who likes their babes a bit more womanly.
Video quality is excellent as always. Images are bright, clean and clear with no significant artifacts or picture anomalies. The 2.0 audio is darn good, with all the girls remaining intelligible and the sounds of lust remaining clear throughout. A Behind The Scenes featurette runs for nearly twelve minutes, and is mainly composed of interviews with Jenna, Gracie and Kagney. It's an average package but for an above-average movie, and definitely recommended.
